Syncing content between environments
- [Instructor] Because you'll be working in multiple environments, you'll want to make sure that the content is regularly synced. The easiest way to do this is using WP Migrate DB Pro. This plug-in will make a complete copy of your database, content, menus, widgets, settings, and everything else, and push it to or pull it from different environments. Let's say you want to copy everything from your staging environment to your dev environment. With WP Migrate DB Pro installed in both places, you can log into your dev or local environment and pull the staging database into dev. It will change the URLs and move the database over. With add-ons, you can also make sure your files go over automatically. It's worth noting that you can do this manually using phpMyAdmin or another database management app. But there are lots of moving parts and if you miss something, you can break your environment.
