Template files in Genesis Framework

- [Instructor] I'd like to run over the template files used in the Genesis Framework, and those are the files here in this root directory. If you've ever looked at template files for another WordPress theme, for instance, here's the 2020 theme, you'll see a lot of template files have the same names, like 404.php and comments.php. So on the surface, the template files for Genesis look really similar to other themes. But unlike a regular theme, the Genesis templates have very little code in them. In fact, some files, like this single.php, only have one line of code. As we learned earlier, whenever you see this Genesis function, it's loading this framework.php file and going through all of this code in the Genesis function. Now the structure can take a little getting used to at first, especially if you've done a lot of theming with regular WordPress themes. But once you get used to it, I think you'll love it.
