Testing the site
- [Narrator] Before you take a site live, you should thoroughly test both the code and the content with the help of your client. Since we've been working in multiple environments, most major bugs have been fixed. All testing should be done on the staging site, as this is the place with the most stable code and the latest content. Be sure to test your site in multiple browsers, on various different devices and operating systems, like Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. And at different connection speeds. Tools like BrowserStack can help with this. At this point, if you haven't been doing so already, you should also do live user testing. Usually this will turn up bugs or other things that might not make sense to the end user. You'll want to capture the following information: what page the user was on, what they tried to do, what they expected would happen, what actually happened, and then device information, like the actual device,…
