- [Instructor] We've talked about Site Identity, Menus, and Additional CSS. I'm going to cover Widgets and Homepage Settings a little bit later. So for now I'd like to look at Theme Settings. This is where you can configure theme-specific options for your site. We'll start with Updates. If you check this box and enter your email address you'll receive an email notification whenever there's an update available for Genesis. I mentioned earlier that a benefit of using child themes is that you're free to update Genesis at any time without fear of losing customizations in your child theme. If you log into your site pretty regularly it'll be obvious to you when there's an update available. But if you don't log in frequently I'd suggest putting your email address in here, so you can know when you need an update. Next, there's the Site Layout.
