- [Instructor] Continuing on with our theme settings, we've got some options for how our content archives display. To show you how this works let me go to a category archive, and here's a link to one in my sidebar. This is the archive for a category called Samples. And here on the right, you can see some posts that I have. The default setting is to show the full entry content. So depending on how long a blog post is, you might be scrolling forever. Another option is to limit the number of characters that display. I'll put in 400. And you can see that immediately it shortens up this page and makes it easier to scan. The other option is to select entry excerpts. By default this displays the first 55 words of a post. If I toggle between the entry excerpt and character limit, one thing you'll notice is that with the excerpt, I just get this little ellipses where the content gets chopped off.
