What you should know
- [Instructor] Before we jump into the lessons, I want to make sure you're set up for success. You'll get the most out of this course if you already have a basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and PHP. That doesn't mean you have to be an expert, but you'll be able to follow along more easily if you're already familiar with those languages. You'll also want to have some experience working with a code editor. Also, because this is a WordPress course, it's important that you understand how WordPress works. If you're new to WordPress, I suggest you take the most recent version of the WordPress Essential Training course. Also, this course is for people who have access to the Genesis Framework from either StudioPress or maybe through their WP engine hosting account. While you don't have to have a copy of the theme to view the course, you'll need one if you want to experiment with the framework or go through theme setup on your computer. Finally, if you're completely new to the Genesis Framework, before taking this course, I'd recommend taking a look at the Learning Genesis course in the library. With this knowledge under your belt, you'll be setup for maximum success here.
