- [Instructor] Depending on your exposure to WordPress, or programming in general, hearing the words theme framework might sound a little mysterious. On the contrary, it's actually pretty straightforward and approachable. So before we talk about customizing themes built for the Genesis framework, I think it's helpful to understand a little more about the framework itself. Let's take a little tour. So what I've got here is my code editor and we're looking at the guts of the Genesis framework. Now, if you downloaded the Genesis framework version 3.0 or newer from StudioPress or WP Engine, unzipped it, and opened it up in your code editor, this is what it would look like. If you're looking at a version of Genesis older than 3.0, then what you see will look nothing at all like what I've got here.
