But ad revenue can sound intimidating, so I'm going to walk you through all of the steps and requirements you need to do before you earn those sweet dollar bills. But first, let me give you a brief overview of how ad revenue works. First, advertisers bid to run various different types of ads on your videos, and then YouTube runs those ads. These ads include skippable and non-skippable ads that can play before, during, or after your videos, as well as display ads, overlay ads, and sponsor cards. Once your percentage of ad revenue reaches $100 or more, Google cuts you a check for your earnings.
