- [Instructor] As you work, you'll probably find that you need to increase detail or remove polygons that aren't working. In this video, I'll show you the quick shortcuts to make that happen. In my exercise file you can see that I have several sections re-topologized independently of each other. This is a great way to work but eventually, they will need to be connected. Ideally, they should connect as smoothly as possible. Let's take a look at a few of these situations and how to solve them by adding or removing polygons and edge loops. So one thing you might notice right off the bat is that there's not necessarily the same number of edge loops on either side of the divide between these various re-topologized sections. So for example, if we look at the number of edge loops coming up off of the forehead, we've got one, two, three, four, five, and in the back of the head, we have one, two, three, four, five, six.
