Adding atmosphere and extra lighting

- Now that we've added the defining details of our creature, it is time to add some additional atmosphere and depth of field detail to make our monster blend into his surroundings. Okay, so the first thing we want to do is we have our revised character in his own folder. Let's go ahead and copy that. We'll hide the one underneath and merge the top layer. Then we'll make a duplicate of that. We will hide the duplicate, go down to the layer underneath and choose Filter, Blur Gaussian. We'll try to find a good range. I think that actually looks pretty good. It's get a little bit of a blur. Let's go ahead and turn on the layer above the blurred layer. Let's take a look at our depth of field. We want to copy this by Control click, Control C, and then we'll make a layer mask, hold down the Alt button to get into the mask, and paste in the depth of field layer. As we turn this guy back on, you will see that it naturally blurs out by using the layer underneath and really helps selling that…
