- [Instructor] We're almost done with this phase of the project, just a few little details to be added. There's little gaps and seams that need to be created so that the knife could open up in real life. There's also some text that I want to engrave next to the Unlock switch. So let's finish up the modeling portion. First thing I want to do is create a seam that goes all the way through the center of the model, and this is something that would allow the knife to be opened up, split into two halves. So let's create a new box. So go to Append, Cube, 3D. Now let's go ahead and Alt + Click on this to make it the active sub-tool. And let's get our Gizmo out and just size this to be roughly the same size as the knife. We just want to overlap it right through the center. So it looks like we could make it a little bit bigger here. Just kind of stretching this out. As long as it overlaps, it doesn't have to fit exactly or anything.
