Adding noise to a brush

- In ZBrush, there are lots of ways to get textures and patterns on to your models. Let's look at one way that's not so well-known. It's great for adding very organic, natural-looking detail, by combining the surface noise feature with a brush. So let's take a look. Okay, so we've got our model here, and let's say we want to put some texture or detail on the surface of it. One way to do it would be with the surface palette here under the tool palette, and we just want to turn on noise here, just to see what this looks like. And then we can edit this and we can change the scale of the noise, for example. Hit okay, and that looks fine and all, but it applies the noise evenly over the entire surface. What if we want to focus that on specific areas just where we sculpt with a brush? So, to see how to do that, let's turn off noise in here. Close that. And what I'm going to do is go under the brush menu. And let's come down to surface and turn on noise here. Now, it looks like the same…
