Aligning the sculpt with the photos
- Now that we have objective reference images set up, we can compare them with what we've sculpted so far and see how close we got. So what I want to do is just rotate my view and hold down Shift so I can snap to a perfect front view. Let's just zoom in here. OK, so it looks pretty close. One thing I'm seeing is that the mouth is a little lower here than the mouth in the photo. Let's see the side view. I'm going to hold down Shift to snap it. OK, so yeah, it looks like the mouth is a little low, nose could come up a little here, brow out a little here, ear is probably the wrong size. And it looks like the neck could come forward. So it looks like in some places, I got pretty close, and in other places, I was a bit off. This is totally understandable, and you shouldn't feel bad if your sculpt is off. Lining up the sculpt with image planes isn't just a technique for making a sculpt more accurate, it's also a great way to check your own internal sense of shape and proportion. OK, so I've…
