Breaking symmetry

- Now that we have the structure and the mid range details done, we can get down to fine tuning. Part of what makes a face feels more natural is the subtle imperfections and deviations from symmetry. In this video, I'll show you how I approach this. ZBrush has a feature called Posable Symmetry which allows you to sculpt on a model that isn't symmetrical but is based on a mesh that used to be symmetrical. Say you could have a character who was in a T-Pose and one of the arms was moved up and then you could continue to sculpt on one of the arms and in Posable Symmetry mode those same details would get put on the other arm in the right place. To use this, let's make sure the mesh is on the highest subdivision level. So, under Geometry you can see, yep, we're on the highest level. Now, go to the Transform menu, and activate Symmetry, and then turn on Use Posable Symmetry.
