Creasing edges

- [Narrator] Every time we subdivide a model whether you're creating new subdivision levels or just using dynamic subdivision, it causes every edge to become rounded. But if you want some edges to stay sharp, you can use creasing. This can create even more variation and visual interest in your models without having to actually make them more complex. So let's see how. All right, so we've got Hank loaded up, and I'm going to zoom in on the belt. Go ahead and alt click on it, if you don't have it selected. And you can see that we've got dynamic subdivision levels turned on, so it's just smoothing it smoothly twice, let's actually crank that up to three times, just to get a smoother effect there. Now first, let's do a sort of automated creasing on this. So what we can do is crease by tolerance. So by default, the tolerance is set to 180 degrees. So anytime we crease with this, any edge would have to have an angle of 180…
