Creating custom alphas in Photoshop
- In the previous video we saw how the stroke type and the alpha can effect the brushes in (mumbles). We also mentioned that the alphas are nothing else but a gray scale image. So just for this video I'm going to switch to another software. I'm going to use photoshop to create a very simple alpha to use with (mumbles). And you can use any image editing software that allows you to save Jpeg images. Either way you'll find the alphas I'll create for this video within the exercise files. Okay so I just switched to photoshop and I have created a square document that is 1024 pixels by 1024 pixels. I'm going to go ahead and click on the paint bucket tool and select a pure black color. And I'm just going to fill the document. Now I'm going to create a new layer and I'm going to use the shape tool to create something that looks like a spike pointing down. Or like an inverted tear drop. Okay something like that. Very rough and after closing this shape we can we can refine the shape a bit using…
