Creating ring sizes

- ZBrush is great for making jewelry. I use it all the time for designing rings. One challenge that comes up often is that rings need to be made to different sizes, but some details should keep the same thickness at any size. How can you increase the scale of a ring without changing its thickness? In this video, I'll show you how I do it. Okay, so we have a ring here, and it has a leaf structure that could be used to hold a gem or a pearl or something. Now, if we were to simply shrink the model for the various ring sizes, the size of the gem that you could put in there would get smaller for each size. Also, the thickness of the metal would get thinner, and get more and more fragile the smaller the size. So let's use some fancy tricks to make the ring sizes without changing the leaf thickness or distance and without making the band thinner. As it is right now, this ring is the largest size.
