Decimating the inside of a model for 3D printing

- Sometimes you'll have a model with a very high polygon count, but a lot of that resolution and detail might be on the inside where it's never going to be the same. In this video, I'll show you how to simplify a model on the inside, leaving more of your computer resources for the outside. Some 3D printers are capable of extremely high resolution so when printing a model that has a lot of extreme detail, you'll probably want to do everything you can to keep that detail. Now Zbrush allows you to decimate a model in order to reduce the number of polygons, but keep the same detail, but there are times when you might want to limit the amount of decimation you do. If you decimate too much, you'll actually start to lose that detail. However, there might be times when you just have to reduce the polygon count, but you don't want to lose any more detail. For example, Shapeways has a limit of one million polygons or a file size of 64 megabytes. Sometimes very detailed models will go over those…
