- Depending on the look you're going for, there's lots of ways that you can sculpt the hair. You can do very detailed sculpting, where all of the hairs are done individually. Or, you could do a loose and expressive sculpt, where the detail of the hair is just hinted at. In this video, I'll show you some techniques for getting started with some finer hair detail. One advantage of this short hairstyle, is that we can sculpt the hair and the head in the same geometry. This means that the smooth gradation from the skin to the hair, is easier to achieve. So, let's work on that. I'm going to clear the mask with control shift A, and let's zoom in here. And what I want to do is smooth out this transition. Now, if you look at the reference photos, there's a pretty smooth transition between the hair and the head in this area. Then what you could do, is add hair detail along this transition.
