Extracting new shapes

- Sometimes you want to create a new object that not only is placed on the surface of an existing object, but that actually follows the same shape as the existing object. For this, we can use extractions to copy a part of a model and break it off into a new object. Let's try it out. Okay, so we have our exercise file open, we've got the gargoyle here, and let's say we want to create some eyebrows on this character. So let's go ahead and zoom in, and in order to create these eyebrows as a separate object, first I'm going to create the shape of them with a mask on the existing object. And I'll get deeper into masks later on, but basically it's a way to isolate parts of the model. So let's get a finer draw size here. And I'm just going to hold down Control, and then paint on a mask. So you can paint whatever kind of shape you want, I'm just going to make some sort of simple yet interesting eyebrow shape. I just…
