How to sculpt and paint on UV layout
- [Instructor] Sculpting and painting on a 3D model feels natural and intuitive but sometimes it's actually more helpful to work on a flat surface especially if you need to create details that follow neatly around a model. Doing that in 3D means you have to start a stroke, stop, turn the model, start a new stroke, stop, turn the model again, and so on. In this video I'll show you how to use a new feature in Version 2020 to get this done more easily. Okay so in our exercise file we have this shell and let's say we want to create a nice organic texture pattern that goes around these spirals. So first let's set up a brush to do that. I'm going to select a Brush Alpha, Alpha 54. This will make a nice dot pattern. Let's see what this looks like when we stroke it on. Okay, I want the spacing of this to be a little farther apart. So let's go to stroke, turn on roll, set roll distance to one or make sure it's not there already so…
