Keeping polygroups when decimating

- As I'm sure you know by now, polygroups are very useful for keeping your models organized. Luckily, most ZBrush features that change a model's polygonal structure, have a way of preserving polygroups. DynaMesh and Zremesher can both be made to keep polygroups in place, even when an entire model gets replaced with new polygons. However, decimation is one feature that destroys all polygrouping. In this video I'll show you how to restore polygroups to a model even after decimating. So here we have our gargoyle. If you hit shift + f you can see that it's broken up into several different polygroups. Now lets say we want to decimate this model, maybe for 3D printing, and we want to be able to retain those polygroups so that we can control different aspects of the model, even after decimating. I'm just going to subdivide this a few times to get all of our detail back. Going to hit shift + f. And lets go to Zplugin and open up Decimation Master. Pre-process the model here, just take a few…
