Modeling the chosen design
- [Instructor] After all the brainstorming and ideation, we've hopefully settles on a design that we want to refine. It's okay if it still looks a little messy. All we need is a sketchy version of the idea and we can rebuild it all nice and clean. In this video, I'll show you how to recreate the basic shape of the knife, but with a clean modeling approach. Okay, let's start out by ignoring any details and just modeling the basic shape. So I'm going to append a new subtool. Let's go to Append, and let's get a Cube 3D. Let's go ahead and click on this, and let's reset its topology. If we turn on Polyframe, you can see that the topology is no good for modeling. So let's go down to Initialize. We'll set the resolution to zero in every axis. Click on QCube. And now we've got a perfectly clean cube to start working from. Let's go into the gizmo, and I'm just going to align this roughly with the model we've already got going. So let's see. It looks like the size needs to increase somewhat…
