Projecting detail to a remeshed model
- So now we have two models; a high resolution sculpture with bad topology and a low resolution model with good topology. We want to transfer the detail from the first onto the second. In this video I'll show you how to use Projection to get what we want. Projection works on any sub-tool that is visible. Let's hide the eyeballs and make the original sculpture visible again. The low resolution model doesn't have enough polygons to hold any detail, so let's subdivide it once by hitting Ctrl+D. To project, let's go into the sub-tool pilot. Let's go to Project and click ProjectAll. Just takes a few seconds, and you should see that the model is now more closely shrink-wrapped to the original sculpture. Let's do that one more time, Ctrl + D, and then ProjectAll. Every time it's going to take a little bit longer because there's four times as many polygons every time we subdivide. Let's do it a third time, Ctrl+D and ProjectAll. Doing it one subdivision at a time helps Projection from having…
