Requirements and recommendations

- [Instructor] In order to get the most out of this course, you need a basic understanding of art terms such as form, light, and volume, and you may also need a basic understanding of Photoshop and ZBrush. Now, that's not absolutely necessary, because I will go through the tools that I'm using and why I'm using them, but it may help you sort of jumpstart yourself and get a little bit more out of the course if you do have a basic understanding of those two packages. And the requirement that we have is that you need a tablet with a pressure-sensitive surface so you can take advantage of all of the stuff that's within Photoshop and ZBrush such as being able to transfer the paint onto the surface with opacity and strength and change the size of your brush dynamically, but also the pressure sensitivity in ZBrush makes you feel like you're actually sculpting real material rather than digital surfaces, that pressure sensitivity allows you to to have more control. So it is recommended, some basic understanding of art terms, and it is required that you find something that has pressure sensitivity. You don't have to spend a lot of money on that, there are some really nice cost-effective tablets out there, Wacom's Bamboo tablet is quite inexpensive and it does have the pressure sensitivity that you need. It would also be good to have some sort of eraser on your stylus, so you can just turn your stylus around and erase. I don't have one on mine, but it does make it a little bit easier rather than having to go and select the eraser when you're working.
