Scratch building for kitbashing
- [Instructor] Scratch building is the process before kitbashing. It consists of taking raw materials, or, in this case of 3D, using primitives and basic shapes to create the objects for our kitbashing kit. Continue with the previous example. If you were creating a kitbash kit for sci-fi vehicle, the scratch building part could encompass the sculpting of a wheel or like the modeling of the tire from a Taurus or a cylinder object. We could also take a cube as a styling point and make it narrower, maybe add some subdivisions, and out of the shapes a little bit just to create some panels that we can reuse later on. In the next videos, we'll go over some of the tools and the techniques that we can use to make this entire kitbashing workflow work in our.
