Sculpting the hat

Sculpting the hat

- [Instructor] Okay now, we're on to my favorite part working on the character's hat. I don't know what it is about hats but I find them really fun to work on especially this one. Let me go ahead and isolate the hat so we could just talk about it individually. Again, this is a very simplistic geometry. It should sculpt very easily for us. There's a couple of things though that we need to discuss in the creation. When I come to the concept art, the general shape of the hat is fairly simplistic. It's basically just a tippy shape, has a large brim. We do have a band that goes around the hat so we have do decide how we want to create that. Do we want it just basically sculpt onto the hat and push out the geometry? Do we wanna create it as a secondary tool? Or do we want to possibly mask it and inflate it? We also have a patch that's on the side of the hat with some stitches. So once again, we have to determine how exactly do we want to achieve that. Think for the needs that I'm creating…
