Setting up the lights

- [Narrator] KeyShot automatically starts every scene with a default lighting setup. And it's actually pretty good. However, there are many others to choose from. KeyShot doesn't let you create individual spotlights in the same way that you can with most other software. Instead it uses HDR environment maps: that stands for high dynamic range. It's like a 2D image that contains lighting information from every angle, and it wraps that image around the scene to create light. The advantage is that it can create very nuanced and high quality lighting. The downside is that it lacks the precise control over the placement of the lights. For example, you can't create a spotlight that just shines on one part of the scene. Okay, so let's start experimenting with some lighting setups. Let's go to the environment tab, and let's make sure we've got our studio lights active here, and we can pick from all kinds of different lighting setups here, and these different HDR maps.
