Sketching silhouettes in Photoshop

- Good characters come from good silhouettes and that's exactly what we're gonna start out with. In this chapter, we're gonna loosen up with Photoshop and get our hand thinking like our brain does. The first thing that I want to do, you can choose any kind of landscape pixel ratio here. I usually start off with something kind of small, but the first thing I want to do is change the color of our background. The reason why is if we change the color of our background then everything we draw on top of it will pop out a little bit more, especially when we start putting in some of the lighter tones. So, I'm going to do a Control-U and bring up my hue and saturation, and I just wanna kind of drop that down to medium gray. I might change this throughout the process, but this is a good starting point. Go ahead and make a new layer and I want to show you my favorite brush I like to use for silhouettes.
