- Welcome to the wonderful world of color. In this video we're going to talk about the base coats and the base materials that you'll need to start the painting process. O.K., we've got our character here. He's got some nice sculptural detail, and now we want to add some base colors, so first what we want to do is scroll down to the right side of our screen and select Polypaint, and click the Colorized button. This will allow us to toggle the colors on and off, so what we want to do now that we have our Colorized option on is we want to change the material, and one thing we want to take a look at first is we want to make sure that our MRGB is selected. This will allow us to paint in the material plus the color. If you have just RGB selected, that will only allow you to paint in the color, but we want to do a little bit of both, so let's make sure we have that selected, and we will click on our material and go to Skin Shade Number 4, and we can also jump up here to material drop down…
