From the course: ZBrush: Sculpting Portraits

Welcome

(bright music) - [Voiceover] Hi, I'm Ryan Kittleson. And in this course, we'll be sculpting a realistic portrait in ZBrush from start to finish! Sculpting a likeness of a real person takes technical and artistic skill. But don't worry, I'll be guiding you every step of the way. You know, even in this age of 3D scanning, these sculpting skills are very important. For one, 3D scans almost always require clean-up by an artist who understands anatomy and likeness; skills that this course will help you with. Additionally, you may need to create a portrait of someone who isn't available for scanning. As this course progresses, we'll start from simple, basic forms and work our way up through medium, small, and fine details. I'll be showing you all the technical tools and artistic principles that I use in my own work. By the end, we'll have a believable sculpture with an engaging facial expression. Sculpting portraits is one of my favorite kinds of work to do. It's always challenging. But when you get into the swing of it, it's very fun and rewarding as well. Now there's lots of exciting stuff to cover. So let's get started sculpting portraits in ZBrush.
