The old way of creating edge loops

- Before we get into the new method for retopology, I just want to quickly show you the old methods that we'll be replacing so that you can get a sense for the time you'll be saving with this new approach. Now for the last few versions of ZBrush, there's been ZRemesher and before that QRemesher, and these did an okay job of retopology for the purpose of sculpting, but they were really lousy for retopology for animation. The previous versions of ZRemesher created spirals and awkward stretched polygons. And even though you could draw out guidelines for the retopology to follow, it was never very reliable. It usually ignored the guides most of the time, even if you cranked up the curve strength to 100. Now a different way to retopologize was with ZSpheres, which required you to tediously create every polygon by hand. It was cumbersome, buggy, and very unintuitive. Alternatively, you could just give up on retopology and ZBrush altogether, and to do it with other programs like Blender…
