Applying materials

Now that we're done with modeling and posing it's time to make this android look its best. In this video I'll show you how to make certain parts of the model have different surface qualities, such as metallic joints, rubber tires, and even a transparent visor. Let's try it out. So you might notice in this scene, I simply added a plane, primitive objects, and positioned it at the base of the model. Let's go ahead and give this plane a kind of ground texture. So let's go in to our materials and switch it to something that looks like it should be an asphalt. So let's click on Matte Cap Gorilla. So what this does, is it applies the material to everything in the scene. However, if we want to lock it in, we have to actually Fill the object with this material. In order to do that, we have to turn Material on, then go to Color> Fill Object. Now it has locked in this material to just the active sub tool.
