Adding duct accessories and fittings
- [Voiceover] There's no shortage of items that we need to place in duct work. For example, fire dampers, balancing dampers, and end caps just scratch the surface. It's important that we place everything we need into the duct. That way we can depend on the output from Revit reporting on how much airflow is going through the duct. To make another point, if we don't put end caps on all of our ductwork Revit will think that all of the air is simply being pushed out of the end of the duct, therefore giving us a false CFN report. So to get started putting accessories and fittings on to our ducts, let's go to HVAC Ceiling Plans 1-Ceiling Mech, Let's zoom in on our duct work and the first thing I'd like to do is to put end caps on both our supply and our return. On the systems tab click duct fitting. Let's scroll up till we find rectangular endcap, standard. I'm gonna put an end cap on this duct, and I'm gonna put an end cap on my return duct.
