- [Instructor] Now there are other types of materials that Maya supports, and you can certainly use these in your scenes. Now why you use them will depend on specifics of the scene, but there are a number of other types of shaders. Now I can use the original Maya shaders, which are in the rendering tab. So if I wanted to, I could create a Blinn and use that, and that works perfectly fine with Arnold. I can select, for example, this cube. And if I go over here, you'll see that I have a Lambert material, but I can use any of these different types of materials here. So if I scroll down to some of these AI shaders, which are Arnold-specific, you can see I have a car paint shader. And so if I wanted to, I could create something that's a little bit more like car paint using this shader, and that's great for certain types of objects.
