- Analyzing and synthesizing foundational research data is of course dependent on the goals of the study and type of method that you used. When you gather quantitative data, analysis is fairly straightforward, but qualitative data is usually a bit more complex. I go over this in depth in my Analyzing Data course, so check that out if you need some guidance on how to tackle analysis and synthesis. However, with foundational research in particular, you need to do more than just draw insights from the work. You need to help put what you've learned in context for your team members and stakeholders, and ultimately drive change based on what you've found. Regardless of the context, the first thing you need to think about is the goals of your stakeholder or audience base.
