Break view

- [Instructor] When working in SolidWorks drawings, sometimes you have a requirement to take a particular view that's very long, let's say, and shorten it down. We can do this with the Break View feature. If we go up to View Layout and down towards the end here we see Break View; this adds break lines to a selected view and basically cuts a section of the view out and shrinks it down. So you can see down below I'm working on a custom extrusion drawing, and I've got my profile on the left that I'm going to start dimensioning; but on my right, I've got the length of the extrusion that I want to convey to the manufacture. But you can see it's really long. It goes way off the page, but really all I got to tell them is that it's 100 inches long. So what I'm going to do is go up here and hit Break View. I'm going to select this view on the right, and now I'm going to go over to the properties for Break View and adjust these as needed.…
