Chamfering edges - SOLIDWORKS Tutorial
From the course: SOLIDWORKS 2019 Essential Training
Chamfering edges
- [Instructor] The SolidWorks chamfer tool works a lot like the SolidWorks fill it tool, and it's been improved for SolidWorks 2019. Let me show you how it works. Now, under the Features tab, down under here, under fill it is chamfer. Click on chamfer, and we have a couple different ways we can define a chamfer. So the first one is called angle distance. The next one is called distance distance. Then, we have this one which is a vertex. Over here, you can have an offset or a face offset, and we have a face face one. So the first one is pretty straightforward. Click on an edge. You can see there, pretty straightforward. It just gives you a 45 degree chamfer on that edge. I can, of course, make that angle different, and I can flip the direction by clicking on this little arrow right here. I can also change the size right over here. So I can type in a value here if I'd like to, like .5, or I can pick something else. Now, I can say I want a full preview, partial preview, or no preview…
