- Capturing video can be much more demanding than capturing still photos. High quality video needs high quality memory cards. So, if you skimp on the card, it can actually cause the video to stutter or even fail in the middle of a capture. Your saw that this Panasonic can actually capture really high data rate, and some cameras can even capture really fast frame rates, up to 120 frames per second, which is quite useful for doing slow motion video. What happens is that the material is captured in the camera buffer and then transferred to the memory card. If your memory card isn't fast enough, well, after a second or two, that buffer can get full and the camera will abort recording or even lock up. So what's important is that you have higher quality memory cards.
