Conducting basic interviews

- Interviews are just what they sound like and one of the most flexible and powerful methods in a researcher's toolkit. At the most basic, it includes you as the researcher having a conversation with a person and guiding them to share information related to your research goals. You're looking to get to know the person and dig into the things like their thoughts, motivations, or fears. If you don't already have users, start by making some educated guesses about your targets and the levers that might differentiate them. Some things may be obvious like their basic demographics, but at this stage, one of the key reasons to run interviews is to learn about what kinds of users might be most interested in your solutions or to compare the needs of different kinds of people.
