- Hi there, my name is Michael Cass, I'm the Founder of Story Impact and I'm excited to be working with CreatorUp on a course called How to Use Storytelling to Build Community. So what I want to talk about now is how we can use stories to connect with people before we convince them to do something. This is important because sometimes I work with folks and I talk about how powerful storytelling is and they look at me and they say, "Look, we don't have time for that. "We have facts, we have return on investment, "we have charts, we have graphs, "that's going to make the connection for us." The problem with that is if you're talking to somebody who isn't already bought in to what you're doing, right? Then no matter how many facts or charts you show them, it's just going to bounce off because in their mind, they don't give what you're doing any value. Facts alone aren't going to convince them.
