Converting text into paths

- [Instructor] Inkscape allows you to convert live text to paths. Let's see why you'd want to do that and how. There are a few reasons why you might not want to keep text as live text in Inkscape. For example, maybe you want to be 100% sure that the appearance of the text doesn't change when someone viewing the document doesn't have the right fonts or maybe you want to tweak or distort the letter shapes in a way that you can't do with live text. So to convert the text to paths, I'll first select some text and choose Path, Object to Path, and I can see in the status bar at the bottom of the window, I now have a group of five objects instead of text. So this is no longer live text and it can't be edited with the text tool. Now that I've converted the text to paths, each character is a separate path within a group and I can control click to enter the group and select one of the letters. I can also press the letter N…
