- [Instructor] Let's start creating some materials. I have a simple sconce in this scene that we'll use on our building. And we're going to just put a metallic material on it. Now I have some other objects in the scene, but those are just so we can see the reflections. So let's start off by assigning a material. So I'm just going to select my object, right click, and go assign new material. And I'm going to use the Arnold standard surface. So I'm going to click on Arnold and find AI standard surface. And there's my material. Now, a lot of times I like to select this in the hyper-shade so that way, I don't have to select the object. And the reason I do that is so I don't have to see the edge faces on the object. So with that material selected, we can start to author it. Now before we do anything, I do want to start a render. So I'm going to go into renderer Arnold and just start an IPR and there's our material. So this…
