- As a passionate photographer, one of the subjects I like to point my camera at is American politics, specifically political conventions, something I've been covering since 2004. Hi, I'm Steve Simon, the passionate photographer, and welcome to photo critique of the week. In this, the inaugural episode, I thought I would show you a few images from my work at the recent American conventions, and talk a little bit about my strategies and philosophies for covering these big shows, and how to get the images that I wanted. I shot over 30,000 frames during the two weeks of coverage, which I think underlines the importance of being able to recognize your strongest work and make the right choices as you learn and grow as a photographer. That's a lot of pictures to go through.
