- All right, welcome back. Lesson three. Now you have your outline, you've engaged your audience, how do we keep them engaged. Here's a few strategies that we can use. The first is specifics and details, right? The more we can appeal to people's sense of touch and taste and smell. What is the weather like, right? What is the what is the sensation of feeling cloth? If somebody's trapped outside in a blizzard, don't just you can just say it was cold but what does that do to somebody? Right? It makes their heart beat faster or slower. It makes them shiver, their teeth chatter. Those are the things that people are going to hook into. Now this comes with a caveat. There is such a thing as way too much detail. So you want to be careful that all the specifics that you're using, all those great details always are serving the story, are always moving it forward.
