Dimensions palette

- [Instructor] The dimension palette is really just another way to change a particular dimension's properties. So when you're creating a dimension or when you click on it like this, you'll see up in the top-hand right a little symbol for dimension that wants to expand in all four corners. If I move my mouse over to it, you'll see that it does expand and shows us all the various properties of our dimension. And this is just another way that SOLIDWORKS has introduced a different workflow so that if, for example, you're trying to move very quickly and make a lot of drawings in one day and you have, for example, standard setup for how you show these drawings, you can create a favorite over here and have it drop in so that all the dimensions look the same when you have to do particular kinds of tolerancing; let's say for a dowel pin that has to go in and you always use a very precise tolerance that's set up in a specific way.…
