- [Instructor] Most video professionals consider sound to be at least half as important as the visual content. If you have great video content, but have bad sound the audience will consider your entire production as subpar. There are four main components of audio in video production: music, sound effects, dialogue, and background sound. Let's talk about these in more detail. Adding music to a web series is pretty common. Stingers are short five to 15 second pieces of music that can introduce or finish off a section of your series. Songs provide a musical bed that can set the mood, or the vibe, or the energy of the section, or create a nice transition between sections of your series, or even be the theme song of your series. You can also score your episodes like films where there's almost continuous music throughout that's been created specifically for each moment of the episode.
