Focusing manually

- While I usually use autofocus, I sometimes find myself shooting manually. This can be for more control when shooting video where focus often changes in the middle of a shot or perhaps we're dealing with something where I want to manipulate focus creatively and push the shallow depth of field. To manually focus, you'll need to put the camera into a manual focus mode. This can be done using a button on the camera or it might be done by flipping a switch on the lens to M for manual. Now if you're going to manually focus, you may want to go in and look for an option for manual focus assist. In this case, I've turned on both Magnify and Peaking. What this means is when I go to adjust, it automatically zooms in on the scene. And as I'm adjusting the focus ring here, I get a zoomed-in object. So I can know exactly when that bread is in focus.
