- [Narrator] These new fabrication parts are pretty cool. Revit is definitely headed in the right direction when it comes to constructibility. The problem is, I think Autodesk still basically considers us to be somewhat third-party. I say that because there are steps involved in getting this stuff to work. Hopefully you don't need this video, but some of you may. Let's look and see where we can go get this stuff. Before we even do that, though, I'd like to just show you the fabrication parts. I've already got 'em loaded in here. As you can see, we have a new panel over here. We can select our service, with ductwork, we have all the items that kind of come with it. If I hit the dropdown, I can go to electrical, piping, bunch of stuff. Now under groups, we can go fittings, valves, joints, and even hangers, which is really cool. See, we have Clevis hangers, trapeze hangers. I like it. But the problem is you have to have this stuff loaded in order for it to work. So let's take a look on where we can go get it. If you have an Autodesk subscription, obviously you can just log in to your site and find it. If not, like me, I've actually loaded it here, so if you want to go to Windows Explorer, and browse to where you're keeping your exercise files, I've made a fabrication folder for you. If you go to the fabrication folder, I've put in the four different components that you need to run. Just run 'em in order. So I'm going to run my Imperial Revit MEP. It's going to compute the space. Always accept. Going to click Next, Next. You need to be an admin to install it, so you might have to get IT to do this. Yes. Now wait a couple seconds, it's going to copy all your files over, and voila. You're done. I'm going to click Finish here. Now if you want to jump into a Revit file, I can close out of this. And I'm just going to hop into my mechanical template. If we go to the Systems tab, if you click on the little down arrow next to Fabrication Settings, we have configurations, if you click the drop down, they should all be in here. So you can just grab the one you want. It takes a second for the first load, and here everything is. Click OK. If you want to turn on the fabrication parts, it's over here. So that's how you get the stuff into your Revit.
