Moving objects
- [Instructor] One of the benefits of creating vector-based artwork is that each object is separate and can be easily moved around the Canvas in relation to other objects. In this moving, we'll see the various ways to move objects in Inkscape. If you just want to freely position an object just click on it with the selector tool and drag and you can move it in any direction around the Canvas. If you want to constrain the objects movement to straight horizontal or vertical lines, start dragging and then press and hold the control key. You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move objects in straight, horizontal and vertical paths. So you can move it down, up, left and right the distance an object moves when you press an arrow key is controlled by a global preference called steps. So let's open global preferences and under behavior, we'll find steps. And here you can set the arrow key distance. This is two pixels…
